Full description
Late Bronze Age settlement in the Highlands of Jordan, particularly south of the Wādī Zarqā’, has traditionally been understood to be negligible and insignificant, though in recent decades studies have reevaluated the period. Settlement during this period in Jordan is a barometer of several intersecting social developments, including the policies and strength of interregional empires, local responses to environmental conditions, and the economic and political opportunities available to indigenous polities.
