Niehart/Beer Terroir, 8. Drinking Beer, Tasting Terroir

Full description
This chapter examines trends in beer and near-beer consumption in the years leading up to the Twenty-First Amendment and the consolidation as fewer breweries with larger output began to dominate national production. Were closures of local breweries caused by consumer preference for national brands or was this caused by regional movements towards prohibition. It also looks at how local brewers advertized and collectively built up a language of beer in the Rockies.
