Full description

The author describes how when he was running the Bass Clef Club in London in the 1980s and 1990s, very few people had heard of Lennie Tristano. He then outlines his own early life and how he became interested in jazz during the war years and started playing dance music around London during his teens. He took up the double bass and by 1947 was a professional musician.
