Lewis et al./Textbook Violence, 10. Toward an Appreciation of Non-Normativity

This chapter examines the unwillingness of most textbooks on Islam to deal with issues of violence, terrorism, or similar issues. I will do this through an autobiographical account of how I came to write my own textbook—Muslim Identities: An Introduction to Islam originally published in 2014. The Second Edition of Muslim Identities was published by Equinox Publishing in 2022.
