Full description

Classical Chilean Pentecostalism shows characteristics that are based on traditional Latin American family values. This article starts with an overview of Pentecostalism and the concept of family in Latin America in general and especially in Chile. Then the analysis concentrates on the Iglesia Evangélica Pentecostal de Chile (IEP) which is one of the oldest and largest Pentecostal churches. It goes back to Pastor Willis Hoover, founder of the Pentecostal Movement in Chile after the revival in Valparaíso in 1909. In this article results of field research in the IEP present parallels between socialization in the family and the church.
