(About AD 322–70.) The author of a Christian Virgilian cento of over 690 lines, Proba is a significant author from the fourth century AD. She was the first writer to compose a substantial Christian cento, one of the first to use Virgil for a Christian purpose, and the first Christian writer that we know for sure was a woman.
