Full description
This chapter is based on data collected during fieldwork conducted in and around the town of Phulbani, headquarters of the Kandhamal district (Orissa), between 2001 and 2006. The research was principally focused on investigating the myths and rituals—but also the social structure and cultural heritage—of a local ādivāsī (indigenous) group, the Kondhs.
