Full description
In this chapter, beginning with the early stage of qur’anic commentary and then following up with Heath’s three divisions, I try to show how various disciplines and historical contexts affected various Muslim understandings of Q. 2:30. I must add, however, that I will merely be scratching the surface, seeking only to illustrate in broad strokes some of the hermeneutical material of the previous chapters.
