Full description
This question’s assumption that a religion will have a specific founder does not fit the variety that we label as Hinduism. In the study of religions, many of the common sense assumptions about how religions function come out of the European context, where Christianity serves as the model of religion, as constructed primarily by men. In multiple other religions, people identify the teachings and experiences of Muhammad or Buddha or Laozi as the foundation (like Jesus) for each respective religion, but for what we call Hinduism, no single, central figure emerges.
