The Theory, Method & Special Topics Collection includes core books and journals as well as selected chapters and articles from other edited volumes and journals and comprises nearly 1800 book chapters and journal articles all of which can be browsed from this page.

The Collection falls into two parts:

Theories of and the Study of Religion
* material focusing on concepts and debates in the study of religion and definitions of "religion"
* various methods for studying and teaching
* disciplinary history of the academic/scientific study of religion/s including key theorists
* contemporary issues facing the humanities and the profession

Special Topics in the Study of Religion
Material on topics that are normally addressed in survey courses introducing the study of religion and those reflecting contemporary trends, such as material religion, performativity, the new animism. embodiment
